LAMENESS INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRE EXPERIENCE AND CARE. WE HAVE BOTH.

Lameness can be a worrying time and can occur for a wide variety of reasons. Our team of equine vets are led by experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon Hugh Somerville BVSc Cert AVP (ESO)(VDI) MRCVS.

Sometimes diagnostic imaging may be essential in order to work up a case to get the answers we need to deliver the correct diagnosis and determine treatment options.

Investigative procedures may include:

  • Examination of your horse’s movement – in hand and or under saddle
  • Nerve and joint blocking
  • X-ray and ultrasound

For more complex cases, or if extra facilities are required, referral to our equine clinic is an option, where your horse can be examined by our orthopaedic surgeon in state-of-the-art facilities, which include a hard trot up, hard circle and soft lunge pen.

We understand that people are busy, so we offer a full day care service to allow our clients to drop their horse’s off at the start of the day and collect them once they are ready.

On your yard

You might be pleasantly what we can do on your yard. Our vets are able to investigate, diagnose and treat the majority of these cases at your own yard.
