Established in 2005, Loch Leven Equine Practice offers a comprehensive range of both on the road and in-clinc services for horse owners across Central Scotland.Founded by Hugh Somerville BVSc Cert AVP (ESO) (VDI) MRCVS, and Liz Somerville BSc (Hons) PgCert VBM, the practice has strong family values and we pride ourselves in being the only independent equine vet practice with full surgical facilities in Scotland.This independence allows us to retain our identity and strong ethos of being a friendly and caring team who offer our clients and their horses, ponies or donkeys, the personalised service they deserve.
Our ‘on the road’ ambulatory service provides routine and emergency care across Kinross-shire, Perth, Fife, Stirling, and Clackmannanshire, with our vets equipped to carry out most routine work in the familiarity of your own yard.
Based just outside of Kinross with easy access to the M90, our modern purpose-built equine clinic offers superior hospital facilities in the event of your horse requiring surgery, or round the clock veterinary care. If you are coming to us for the first time, you can find directions here.
By only employing equine vets who have dedicated their careers to looking after horses and ponies, we know that our clients are receiving advice which they can trust.This also means that for emergencies out of office hours our clients will always see an experienced horse vet.
Our team of equine vets, nurses and support staff receive regular on-going training to ensure we provide the highest quality of care. We are on hand 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Case continuity is very important to both our clients and our vets. Our office staff will do their very best to ensure you see the vet of your choice and that they are able to see your case through from start to finish.
