Whichever way we look at age, one thing is for sure, it’s highly individual with most owners using a combination of actual age in years and physiological age to judge if their individual horse has moved into the senior bracket. It used to be the case that horses were considered ‘aged’ at 15 years. However, these days horses and ponies can often stay in work and show no outward signs of aging until well into their twenties.
SPILLERS is no novice when it comes to senior healthcare. The feed manufacturer has been involved with numerous senior research collaborations over many years, bringing together world-leading equine veterinary, nutrition and research experts interested in working on aspects of nutrition and the older horse.
